According to online competitive intelligence service Hitwise, with the emergence of online bingo, gambling websites have attracted a new profile of online gambler.

According to the Hitwise analysis, gambling sites as a whole attract 8% fewer visits from female Internet users than average for all websites. In particular, male users account for 3 in 5 visits to sport betting sites, but on the other hand, bingo websites reportedly count 3 in 5 visits from women.

According to Hitwise, the online gambling industry has enjoyed quick growth, and in order to sustain this growth gambling sites need to attract new audiences, such as women, who used to be underrepresented on gambling websites.
